Amelia is 18 Months old!
Oooh. Oooh Amelia. You are the high and low of my days lately. Your brother has hit a patch of pretty even keeled ness (watch, that will change tomorrow). But, you? You are a force to be reckoned with. You have ideas, opinions and plans. Heaven help anyone who tries to get in your way. You know, like put on your shoes when you were in the middle of emptying out my sock drawer. We daily knock heads over mundane daily life tasks. Shoes happen to be the big one lately. We can be on time to get out the door and then....15 minutes behind all just due to shoes. It is rough planning around your shoe diva moments.
Amelia loves all things related to personal care. Lotion, soap, shampoo, perfume, makeup, deodorant and especially vaseline. This can also make getting ready to go anywhere a tricky enterprise. Putting your pants on while holding the cabinet doors shut with your knees isn't the quickest way to get anything done. (PS. We have locks on the cabinets. She can open them).
But, as much as I am daily frustrated by her, I am alternately charmed by her. I can be ready to lose my temper and ninety percent of the time, she'll turn on the charm. She gives hugs and kisses willingly (as opposed to William who still claims to "be all out of kisses today" for days on end). She tightly wraps her chubby arms around my neck and in moments all my frustration melts away. She is a Mama's girl. She is happy with a lot of people around, but frequently needs to check in with me. And when I leave? She is not happy. I enjoy lots of snuggle and cuddle time with her when she isn't busy emptying cabinets, bookshelves and pantries of their contents in an astonishing speed.
Amelia loves to read just as much as her brother. You don't ever read to just one of them. If you start a book, you'll have two little ones on your lap in very short order.
She is also a good eater so far. There isn't anything she won't try. She willingly eats broccoli, asparagus and green beans. As far as I can tell, she isn't a huge fan of bananas, onions or cucumbers.
There is a few reasons the post didn't get put up on time. The biggest reason is visible on her right cheek. She came running and fell into the doorway corner, very hard. She was black and blue for a LONG time!
This girl has so many faces - she loves to make people laugh. She'll mimic facial expressions, body language or tone of voice. I don't always recognize the mimic right away. Here she is mimicking the beginning of my frustration with her lack of cooperation.
Did you notice her eyes? They were bluish at her 1st birthday and now they are a light brown.

In order to have a nice backdrop for her pictures, I moved a LOT of things out of the way. She was much more interested in going through the piles of stuff and playing than having her picture taken.
